To get involved, report a safety concern you have seen in a facility to CareGuard, volunteer through Valor Medica’s own volunteer page, or offer a professional skill through the contact form. Sevadar Foundation does not currently run a volunteer program of its own.
A short page with an honest answer, including where the answer is “not right now.”
If you need care
Start with the division, not the foundation. Valor Medica, get help. If this is an emergency, call 911. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 — and veterans can reach the Veterans Crisis Line by dialing 988 and then pressing 1.
How do I report a safety concern in a nursing home?
That is the most useful thing most people can do and it takes ten minutes. CareGuard runs a channel for staff, families and visitors. Report a concern.
Can I volunteer with Sevadar Foundation?
The honest answer is that this foundation is small, and a volunteer program is itself a program — it needs screening, supervision, insurance and someone whose job is to run it well. Standing one up badly wastes the volunteer’s time and creates risk for the people being served. Sevadar Foundation does not currently operate one.
Valor Medica runs its own operations and its own site has a volunteer page: valormedica.org/volunteer. That is the better door.

How can I support Sevadar Foundation?
As of August 2026, the foundation is funded entirely by its founder. There is no giving form on this site and that is deliberate. What there is instead is a conversation. Support this work →
If you have a professional skill to offer
Facility operations, geriatric care, nonprofit governance, accounting, or the physical-plant discipline described on the review program page — say so through the contact form.
What is the simplest way to help a nursing home resident?
Visit somebody in a nursing home, at an unpredictable hour, and pay attention while you are there. A resident with a regular visitor who notices things is materially safer than a resident without one. No organization can substitute for that and this one does not pretend to. Frequently asked questions
Why doesn’t Sevadar Foundation run a volunteer program?
Because a volunteer program is itself a program. It needs screening, supervision, insurance and someone whose job is to run it well. The foundation is small, and standing one up badly would waste volunteers’ time and create risk for the people being served. Until it can be run properly, the foundation does not operate one.
Where can I volunteer instead?
Valor Medica runs its own operations and has its own volunteer page at valormedica.org/volunteer, which is the better door. If you have a professional skill to offer, such as facility operations, geriatric care, nonprofit governance, accounting or physical-plant review, say so through the contact form.
Can I donate to Sevadar Foundation?
There is no giving form on this site, and that is deliberate. As of August 2026, the foundation is funded entirely by its founder. What it offers instead is a conversation about supporting the work, which starts on the Support this work page.
